Catherine’s Home is located at the entrance of the village of Kalavarda on the west coast of Rhodes, at a distance of 31 km from the centre of the city (35 min. by car), 15 km from the airport and 400m (10 min. walk) from the beach. Kalavarda is a small picturesque village with an abundant vegetation in front of the sea and it fall within the jurisdiction of the Municipality of Kamiros. It is dwelled by approximately 500 inhabitants who are mainly occupied in agricultural works, though a keen occupation in the field of tourism has been noticed during the last year.

Inhabitants still keep the traditions, manners and customs of the village. The internal decoration in most of the houses is traditional and ornamented with ancient plates and other decoration items.

At a distance of 4 km from the house, there are super markets, pharmacies, banks and at a distance of about 100m. you can find grocery shops, cafeterias and tavernas while, just across the road there is a bus stop.

The distance of the beach is about 400m. (approximately 10min. walk). There you may windsurf, or play beach volley. There are also tavernas and restaurants.

At the village Theologos (15km far from the village of Kalavarda) there is a great variety of choices for your entertainment whereas, there you can find shops, restaurants, bars, cafeterias and night clubs.
